Welcome to My Blog on Wine, Art and related Travel

Hello, my name is Harald and I have been a passionate "connoisseur" of wine and art since my times at university in Europe and the US. With fellow students in the early 2000s, we formed a wine club called "Ars Fruendi" in which we - as students - organized blind wine tastings and developed our palate. My professional live brought me from Germany to New York, twice to London and Brexit was the catalyst for me to arrive in France in 2019. Throughout all those years, I have also enjoyed going regularly to museums across the world, to the leading art fairs such as Art Basel, Art Cologne, Frieze London and Frieze Masters and to spend time at Art Weekends in London, Paris, Berlin and Munich. I spent a lot of time with students of the Battersea College of Art and am still in contact with them to see how they grow and develop.

Fast forwarding about 20 years, I have extensively indulged into what the French understand under "Accords de mets et vins" i.e. food and wine pairing. I have often invited friends for classical home concerts at my apartment to discuss wine, art and classical music and hosted dinner parties.

Furthermore, I have travelled together with my partner across France to visit the many different wine regions in France, such as Champagne, Chablis, Chinon, Saumur, Savennières, the Bordeaux region (Pomerol and St Emilion) and the Burgendy region. The Rhone valley is about to discovered.

I want to use this block to share our amazing experiences from beautiful vineyards, domaine visits, hotels / guest houses as well as guided tours.

Alongside that, I will post about which art events we were able to see and which I recommend to see / or hear in case of (classical) music. Stay tuned... More to follow. Life is rich in discoveries.

Best,

Harald
